Employment Requirements

To work as a Home Health Aide in Florida, you will need a 40 hour HHA certificate, 75 hour Home Health Aide certification (certificate), or a diploma in Home Health Aide through an approved post-secondary school. In order to meet our exceptional standards of employment, we do require the following as well:
  1. Proof of Identity (i.e. Drivers License, Valid Photo ID, etc)
  2. Social Security card
  3. Certification (+skills)*
  4. CPR & First Aid
  5. TB (PPD) Screening **
  6. Physical Clearance
  7. FDLE Approved Background Check***
  8. HEP B Vaccine Records / Declination Form
  • *You must obtain Certification/License from the state in which you are working in.
  • **TB (PPD) Screening must be done within six (6) months of application/Chest X-Ray (Valid for 5 Years)
  • ***Florida does not require fingerprinting and the Dept. of Health will only accept background checks approved by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Approved Criminal Background Check.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Home Health Aides – Direct Support Professionals (DSP) will provide direct support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Great job for certified nursing assistants and college students- field of study relates to Healthcare Service. Must have experience working in the healthcare services field and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Written communication and computer skills, a valid Florida Driver’s license, a licensed U.S. driver with a good driving record during the past three years of continuous driving experience, the ability to attend and pass onsite training classes within the first 30 days of hire. Eligibility determined by Criminal and Background investigations conducted for all employees. Minimum high school diploma or GED.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The Lead Group Home Staff position supports individuals living in group homes throughout the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The position involves supervision of staff and direct interventions with individuals and case management. Applicants for Lead Staff must have a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working in the community with persons with disabilities REQUIRED.

Candidates must have experience with intellectual and developmentally disabled individuals, physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, a license to practice, at least 2-5 years’ experience, and must be flexible. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent computer skills, a valid Florida Driver’s license with a good driving record, the ability to attend and pass onsite training within the first 30 days of hire.
